Leave the lights of town behind for a fully private evening at Wupatki National Monument, a protected desert landscape with open horizons and dark skies. With an astronomy educator dedicated to your group, there is time to settle in, ask questions, and explore the night sky together. What you can see varies with the season, moonlight, and weather. After settling into comfortable chairs with blankets and warm drinks, your astronomy educator will introduce the night sky with a laser-guided tour of the constellations before inviting guests to explore the universe through a powerful motorized telescope. Depending on the season, we may observe: • Saturn's rings • Jupiter and its moons • Distant galaxies millions of light-years away • Ancient star clusters • Nebulae where new stars are born Whether you're an avid astronomy enthusiast or simply curious about the universe, this relaxed and welcoming experience offers an unforgettable opportunity to reconnect with the night sky beneath some of the darkest skies in the American Southwest. This experience takes place inside Wupatki National Monument — a protected archaeological landscape. After the monument closes to regular public visitation, experience this remarkable landscape through your privately guided evening with Flagstaff Stargazing Adventures. A vehicle monument pass is required for entry and can be purchased in advance at nps.gov. Passes are valid for seven days, so many guests visit the ancient pueblos, scenic trails, and cultural landmarks during the day before returning after dark for their private stargazing experience. Cancellation Policy
Booking, Payment, Cancellation & Weather Policy PAYMENT DEADLINES For direct private bookings, the remaining balance is due 14 days before the scheduled start. Any required deposit is due at booking. Bookings made within 14 days require full payment at booking. Separately agreed written payment terms for resort partners, corporate clients, and contracted events take precedence. Applicable cancellation and refund terms still apply. PRIVATE EXPERIENCES Because each experience is reserved exclusively for your party, guest cancellations received at least 7 days (168 hours) before the scheduled start time are eligible for a refund of tour charges. The 2.9% card fee is non-refundable once processed, except as required by law or for FSA non-weather cancellations below. Cancellations received less than 7 days before the scheduled start time, including no-shows, are nonrefundable and the full reservation amount remains due. WEATHER Stargazing is weather dependent, and conditions in Northern Arizona can change quickly. Flagstaff Stargazing Adventures makes the final determination as to whether conditions are suitable for a safe and meaningful experience. If FSA cancels due to weather, payments above the deposit (partial or full) are refunded less the 2.9% card fee and separately disclosed non-refundable add-ons, deducted only once. The deposit becomes transferable credit for a future experience, with no expiry. Please do not cancel based solely on a weather forecast. If your experience remains scheduled and you choose not to attend, it is considered a guest cancellation and the cancellation terms above apply. CHANGES & RESCHEDULING We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests to reschedule made at least 48 hours in advance, subject to availability. Changes requested within 48 hours are not guaranteed. CANCELLATION BY FLAGSTAFF STARGAZING ADVENTURES If FSA cancels for non-weather reasons and cannot reasonably provide or reschedule your experience, all payments, including the 2.9% card fee, are refunded. PAYMENT PROCESSING Card payments incur a 2.9% fee, non-refundable once processed, except as required by law or for FSA non-weather cancellations above. Private events, weddings, corporate programs, resort activations, and star parties are subject to the cancellation terms stated in the event proposal or contract.
